Flava Mcgregor puts out romance single with Cas Haley

PARIS, TEXAS:
Leading reggae producer Kemar “Flava” McGregor has just premiered a major collaborative single with American pop-music icon Cas Haley, who was a second-place winner on the NBC performing-arts competition “America’s Got Talent.”

The blissful and romantic single, titled “Neva Gonna Let You Go,” was released Tuesday, January 17, 2012 on iTunes. McGregor said Cas Haley’s new single will introduce a dynamic, ultramodern energy to the reggae world, due to Haley’s clever vocal style, and McGregor’s experimental, pop-oriented production techniques.

“This is the authentic reggae drum-and-bass style, but it has a twist to it,” said

McGregor. “The twist is using a pop production sound, so it can merge into a more commercial market. I wanted to have a reggae record that could play alongside a Rihanna track, or a Beyonce track, and top deejays could play it, and it still would fit

within the mix, because with pop music, it’s the sound that reaches people.”

Born in Paris, Texas, Cas Haley achieved a commercial breakthrough in 2008, when his rendition of The Police’s legendary hit, “Walking On The Moon,” earned him the runner-up position on “America’s Got Talent.” Haley’s version of “Walking On The Moon”propelled his self-titled debut album to the #2 position on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. His second album, “Connection” also reached #2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart in 2010.Within a short time, McGregor received glowing feedback about “Neva Gonna Let You Go” from reggae-industry insiders, who already believe the McGregor/Haley collaboration will establish groundbreaking stylistic trend

“I was just playing Cas’ song for different people, and they were saying, ‘This is the sound people are dying to hear in reggae.’ The way he sings on ‘Neva Gonna Let You Go,’ and the uplifting vibe that he gets – this is exactly what reggae is missing right now. That’s the feedback that I’m getting. Not only will the collaboration benefit me and Cas Haley, but it will open doors for Haley’s fans to get deeper into reggae music.”
